I have tried Mint 9 Helena and it seems to work well. Still using Ubuntu as well. Ubuntu is pretty easy to instill. Many distro's have live CD's so you can search the web at your favorite coffee house without worrying about bugs. I don't think they can insert things on a CD. Once you are done just shut down. You won't save any history or cookies using this method, plus it saves your Windows from getting bugs.
