While reading the most recent copy of our local college newspaper, the Kaimin, we came across an interesting article about the University of Montana’s assistant professor Mike Rosulek and a prestigious grant he was awarded for cryptography research. We thought it was pretty cool and it got us thinking about the growing importance of data protection and the many different ways one can protect their online assets.
At Modwest we are constantly fending off cyber attacks and thought it might be helpful to our readers if we shared a few resources on how to protect your online assets.
So here’s a list of resources we have found to be helpful:
- The Open Web Application Security Project is a great general resource for web developers wanting to learn how to harden their custom application.
- Hardening Wordpress contains information about making Wordpress more secure, but many of the concepts apply to any content-management system.
- As always, choose good passwords, and protect them in a password safe, like KeePass.
