Modwest: What is the purpose of your site, that is, what is your site meant to accomplish?
Hans Sautter: My site is mainly aimed at photo buyers: editors, art directors and designers. I hope to get attention and introduce my style and work samples to publishing professionals looking to assign photographers for potential projects. But it also serves as a showcase for my work in general. Most people know only certain aspects of my work. This website allowed me to present the seemingly disparate subjects of my focus and how they relate and overlap.
MW: What sort of software application(s) does your site use?
HS: The code was written by a friend of mine, who happens to be one of your customers and who brought you to my attention It is a script which uses galleries produced in iView Media Pro.
MW: What do you envision is the next step for your website?
HS: Integrating multimedia. Specifically producing slideshow movies containing ambient sound and possibly music.
MW: What do you like best about your site?
HS: The simplicity. Publishing professionals have a very short attention span. Everything should be quickly accessable and easy to overview. I am also happy about the speed. My website is accessed from everywhere, from South-Africa to Finland, and from Europe, Japan to the US and since I changed to Modwest nobody complains.
MW: Anything else you'd like to share about your webhosting experience with Modwest, or in general, that may be helpful to other Modwest customers?
HS: Based in Japan I am particularly impressed by your excellent support. Your staff has been surprisingly responsive and patient when hand holding was needed.
MW: Any suggestions for other website owners?
HS: Keep it simple! Most people spend much less time on a website than the owners wish to think. Don’t impose yourself on other peoples computer like automatically changing to full screen.
