Over the years we've been asked from time to time why we don't offer
long-term discounts like other hosts. The answer is we do, but it's not
automated and not publicly advertised.
Recently, feedback in the Community (like this and this) has brought the topic back to top-of-mind, so for the past few months we've been working in earnest towards a robust automated prepayment system that offers lots of flexibility for customers and rewards you with discounts for prepaying for longer terms.
We've settled on some generalities, and now we're asking you for your feedback. Which prepayment option is most appealing to you?

Maybe I am misunderstanding this, but I pay $10/month right now for shared hosting and a database. So I would break even with the 12 month plan. So this doesn't appear to benefit me at all and in fact would just make me pay for the whole year up front without any incentive on my end, except avoiding an increase.
I have noticed that other hosting companies offer discounts for pre-pay and I would totally be in favor of that (duh), if it was an actual discount. I have been with Modwest for years because they are a Montana company a reliable, but times are tough. This would solidify my relationship with Modwest.

Hi -- we've updated the topic to be clearer about the fact that everyone can stay on their existing plan if you prefer. The switch is optional.
